NOW East Merritt Island Community Association
New Name Same Mission
OUR MISSION
The heretofore East Merritt Island Homeowners Association (EMIHOA) will now be known as the East Merritt Island Association (EMIA). We believe the name change better reflects our purpose of bringing together people, information, and common interest that betters our community. While EMIHOA has a 60-
year legacy, it is not a deeded HOA with enforced standards. So why EMIA? Our footprint lies within an area of Brevard County that is unincorporated, which means our interests are but a small part of a much bigger and dynamically growing County. As such, we believe it is important that we stay informed and, in
some cases, rally voices for matters that concern our community. Our organization is non-political and open to all residents. To support our efforts, which mostly include the costs of producing a newsletter, website development, meeting venue, and incidental expenses, we ask for a membership donation you
believe is appropriate. Perhaps the most important support we ask is your involvement in attending our meetings and hearing input to issues that the community should be better informed or can make a collective effort in addressing. Finally, EMIA is a grass-roots organization made possible by the volunteer time of concerned neighbors. We are grateful for all that they do.
The Mission of the East Merritt Island Homeowners Association (EMIHOA) is to protect the interests of the property owners and individuals who reside in the 32952 zip code with particular emphasis on controlled growth, lifestyle of the residents, ecology, area appearance, and property values.
You can become a member of the East Merritt Island Homeowners Association if you reside in the 32952-zip code. Anyone that lives here is welcome to join regardless of neighborhood.
EMIHOA is a non-mandatory association with dues of $15 per household annually.
Our community meetings are held at Lighthouse Christian Church
Why is East Merritt Island a great place to live?
Cheryl says: “I love that the location is close to everything! the beach, the port, the river, the space center, just down the road from an international airport. Our family says ‘This is where it is all happening’!”
Michele says: “I love living northeast banana river drive because of the proximity to 528 and the Port. We have all the thrills of living near the beach without the drama. Its a sleepy little area near all that we need in a scenic setting.”
Terri says: “I have lived there for 48 years. Almost my entire life. Not sure I could breathe anywhere else. I love being surrounded by the water and nature.”
